Geneva, Switzerland, 06 October/PRNewswire/ -- Adding to the impressive array of high-performance, multi-processing embedded solutions, Mango DSP Ltd. introduced the Lark board; a new 19" wide video processing board based on the Texas Instrument C6415 DSP. The board supports up to 8 analog video inputs, analog and VGA outputs and up to 11 DSP processors. The board supports an on-board host processor such as the Intel Pentium or National Instrument Geode. A network processor and built in IP switch allows the board to broadcast and receive video and data over an IP network with no external hardware necessary. The board supports HD recording as well as a user definable PCMCIA slot. The Lark is supported by Mango's video library including MPEG-4, H.263 and MJPEG codecs. The Lark board is ideal for video surveillance, IP broadcasting and archiving. Additionally, the board features various I/O ports such as 8 analog audio input, user RS232 and multiple user definable TTL which can be programmed through an on board FPGA. The board can be easily fit into an industry standard 1U or 2U 19" rack for an all-in-one solution. Unprecedented Power and Performance Designed with 11 TI c6415 processors running at 500-720 MHz, the Lark is the most powerful video processing solution on the market. Fully programmable DSP provides over 5 Billion operations per second and can run full D1 MPEG-4 encoding at studio quality as well as multiple decoders and other video processing algorithms. Compatible Development Tools The Lark is compatible with Windows 2000/XP, Linux and VxWorks. DSP development is via TI's Code Composer Studio and works with DSP/BIOS RTOS. A full Mango Board Support Package is provided alongside software libraries for video algorithms. Software communication libraries are part and parcel of the Lark board for maximal compatibility for many applications. The Lark is a technological breakthrough that enables significant cost per channel reduction for the end user. This is achieved by the highest computing power and architectural flexibility making the Lark the compelling solution for integrated video, data and voice applications.
