Xilinx Chairman and CEO to Address Semiconductor Manufacturing Community At International Symposium on Semiconductor Manufacturing

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- What: Wim Roelandts, Chairman and CEO of Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX), to deliver keynote address. Company to participate in 90nm process technology workshop.

Xilinx today announced its involvement in the twelfth annual International Symposium on Semiconductor Manufacturing. ISSM is an annual conference of semiconductor manufacturing professionals dedicated to sharing technical solutions and opinions on the advancement of manufacturing science, technology, and management.

-- Keynote Address on the "State and Evolution of the Fabless Industry Model" by Wim Roelandts, Xilinx Chairman and CEO and Fabless Semiconductor Association Chairman, Tuesday, September 30, 9:05 a.m. - 9:50 a.m.

In his keynote address, Wim Roelandts will discuss the "State and Evolution of the Fabless Industry Model." Roelandts will give a historical perspective on the fabless industry, contrast the skyrocketing costs of fabs versus industry revenues, and explore the many factors driving increased adoption of the "fabless" business model on a global basis. As Chairman and CEO of Xilinx, which pioneered the "fabless" business strategy nearly 20 years ago - and one of the first semiconductor companies in the world to ship 90nm products in 2003 - Roelandts brings a unique perspective to his talk at next week's ISSM conference.
