VMETRO to OEM and Distribute AdvancedIO’s 10GbE Products VMETRO, Inc, a leading provider of high performance signal and data processing boards and subsystems and AdvancedIO Systems, Inc., the technology leader in configurable, 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) connectivity solutions for embedded systems, today announced that they have signed a multi-year original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and distribution agreement. Under the terms of the OEM agreement, AdvancedIO’s flexible technology will become the basis for 10GbE connectivity in VMETRO’s integrated systems sold worldwide. In addition, VMETRO will distribute and support stand-alone AdvancedIO products in North America; VMETRO and its subsidiaries VSYSTEMS will be the exclusive distributors of AdvancedIO products in Europe. “We are very excited by the increased market presence of our products in North America and the introduction of our products in Europe through this partnership with VMETRO,” said Mohammad Darwish, President and CEO of AdvancedIO, “Having worked closely with VMETRO’s innovative products and customer-driven team in the past, we have a strong reason for expecting this relationship to be complementary and successful.” The agreement expands on an informal relationship between VMETRO and AdvancedIO which has developed through successful collaboration on several customer projects during the past year. These projects have involved 10GbE implementations for data recording applications, avionics test systems, and radar signal processing – all for major defense market contractors. “Last year we started to see an emerging trend in the embedded system community toward the use of 10GbE as a system interconnect because of its high performance and adherence to a well known standard which provides for easier software migration” said Jim Gerberman, President VMETRO, Inc. “By integrating AdvancedIO’s 10GbE offload and data-streaming solutions with our high-performance digital signal processing and recording platforms, we can make embedded system development easier for our customers.” PCI-X and PCI Express are registered trademarks of the PCI SIG.
