Avnet Electronics Marketing and Advanced Knowledge Associates Combine Forces to Attack the Military Market

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--When developing its first high-performance integrated system on a module (SOM) for the military market, Advanced Knowledge Associates (AKA) needed a distributor with technical experts and in-depth product training. Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), helped AKA bring its solution to market faster.

AKA began its relationship with Avnet Electronics Marketing in 2003, when it started work on the LM125, a fully self-contained logic module with a built-in high density FPGA fabric revolving around Xilinx’s Spartan IIE technology. AKA turned to Avnet for help with technical support, visibility into component suppliers’ roadmaps and development kits. As AKA is introducing subsequent generations of product – the LM150, LM200 and the LM300, Avnet will continue to be its distributor of choice. Avnet’s development kits, SpeedWay Design Workshops™ and OnRamp Technical Sessions™ have helped pave the way for the next generation of modules, which AKA will release later this year.
