Simulink HDL Coder from The MathWorks Wins GSPx New Product Forum AwardNew Software Tool Recognized for Accelerating Design, Implementation, and Verification of Hardware ISPCON FALL 2006 NATICK, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The MathWorks today announced that Simulink® HDL Coder has won a New Product Forum Award at GSPx 2006, the International Signal Processing Conference and Expo taking place this week in Santa Clara, Calif. The award, one of three presented at this year’s GSPx, recognizes new hardware, software, and EDA products that offer the greatest promise for signal processing and embedded software industries. Simulink HDL Coder is an industry first for system and hardware engineers, letting them adopt Model-Based Design in their development processes for both hardware and software. Available since September, the product automatically generates synthesizable hardware description language (HDL) code from the company’s Simulink® and Stateflow® software. With Simulink HDL Coder, engineers can produce target-independent Verilog and VHDL code and test benches for implementing and verifying application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). “There’s been a strong response from the engineering community since the September announcement of this product,” said Ken Karnofsky, director of marking, signal processing and communications at The MathWorks. “This award is further evidence that Simulink HDL Coder will be a vital link in the systems development process.” GSPx targets design engineers and senior-level developers responsible for the development and management of embedded technologies and products incorporating such solutions.
