Lattice to Demonstrate Automotive Grade Programmable Logic Devices and Design Solutions at ConvergenceHILLSBORO, OR ( OCTOBER 9, 2006 ( Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that it will demonstrate multiple automotive design solutions at Convergence 2006, October 16-18, in Booth 1034 at Detroit's Cobo Hall. The demonstrations will showcase the "Lattice Automotive" programmable logic devices that have been characterized and qualified to meet the certification requirements of the AEC-Q100 standard as defined by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC). Lattice also will feature several new products, including FPGAs, CPLDs, embedded microprocessors, mixed-signal power management devices and software design tools, which target specific automotive design applications. A Broad Range of Products and Demonstrations for Automotive Design The LatticeECP2(tm) FPGA family's I/O support for 7:1 LVDS and Camera Link interfaces The LatticeMico32(tm) 32-bit soft processor running on a LatticeECP(tm) FPGA evaluation board The LatticeMico8(tm) 8-bit soft processor running on a non-volatile Lattice MachXO(tm) evaluation board The LatticeMico8 IP core is an 8-bit microcontroller optimized for Lattice FPGAs and Crossover Programmable Logic Device architectures. The demonstration will use the smallest LatticeMico8 configuration (under 200 LUTS) operating within a Lattice MachXO Crossover PLD device. Combining a full 18-bit wide instruction set with 32 General Purpose registers, the LatticeMico8 core is a flexible Verilog reference design. The ispPAC-POWR1014A Power Manager evaluation board This demonstration shows how to use the PAC-Designer(r) software design tools with the ispPAC-POWR1014A device to generate a power supply start-up sequence and output control system. The ispPAC-POWR1014A device is a member of Lattice's ispPAC(r) Power Manager II family. It is a general-purpose power-supply monitor and sequence controller, incorporating both in-system programmable logic and in-system programmable analog functions implemented in non-volatile E2CMOS(r) technology. The ispPAC-POWR1014A device integrates many automotive power management functions that typically require multiple ICs, lowering cost and improving reliability.
