Magma MUSIC Conference to Include Keynote Speakers from Actel, Intel; Agenda Announced for Sept. 15-16 Conference in Silicon Valley

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 2005--Magma Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq:LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced the agenda and keynote speakers for its fourth annual users group conference, Sept. 15-16 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The MUSIC (Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits) conference provides an open forum for users to gain expertise using Magma's chip design software and to exchange ideas about, and solutions for, the challenges of nanometer integrated circuit and system-on-chip (SoC) designs.

Each day the MUSIC program will feature two parallel tracks of technical presentations, tutorials and chat sessions given by Magma users, design industry experts and Magma's engineering and development staff. John East, CEO of Actel, will present a keynote entitled "Integration: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." Ken Tallo, director of Strategic Design Automation in Intel's Low-Power IA & Technology Group (LTG) will present a keynote entitled "What's Hot at Intel?" Magma CEO Rajeev Madhavan will also speak at the event.

"Through the hard work of the newly established technical program committee, we've put together a solid and exciting technical program," said Jason Cong, international chairman of MUSIC. "The MUSIC series has grown dramatically in just a few short years. Last year attendance grew by over 50 percent. We expect similar growth this year."

Some the selected user presentations are:

-- The Magma RTL-to-GDSII Flow in a Mixed-Signal Design Environment

-- Sign Off with Magma

-- Multi-Vt Optimization with Blast Fusion(R)

-- Clock Network Latency Reducing Techniques to Compensate for OCV Effects

-- Ingredients for Timing Closure on Flash-Based FPGAs

-- Timing Closure with Crosstalk Effects

In addition to the technical program, the conference will feature an exposition where users can learn how Magma and its partners address the electronics design chain. Attendees will be able to speak directly with Magma partners about design, flow and integration solutions. Magma partners exhibiting in the MUSIC Partners Fair include ARM, Cadence Design Systems, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, Denali Software, Legend Design Technology, Mentor Graphics, MIPS Technologies, Silicon Canvas and Virage Logic.
