Aldec and Renesas Sign Unlimited Site License Agreement for HDL Simulator

HENDERSON, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2005--Aldec, Inc., a pioneer in mixed language simulation and advanced design tools for ASIC and FPGA devices, announced today the signing of a site license for 10,000 Riviera(TM) HDL simulators to be installed at Renesas Design Vietnam Co., Ltd. Renesas Design Vietnam is a subsidiary of Renesas Technology Corp., a leading Japanese semiconductor vendor established as a joint venture between Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. Renesas has purchased Riviera-SNA (Simulator for Networking Applications) to be used for parallel verification of their microprocessor based system-level designs.

Terms of the Agreement

The Agreement between Aldec and Renesas covers a three-year period, is renewable and provides a virtual site license with access to 10,000 HDL simulators simultaneously. Aldec will be working directly with Renesas on set-up and configuration and will provide direct on-site support throughout the design lifecycle. The partnership will be analyzed quarterly and adjusted based on further verification requirements and implementation of other Aldec products such as hardware acceleration and co-verification.
